To participate is a leap, an act of courage. Join us: Carolyn Cowan, Catherine Page & Sophie Budden offer a five-day retreat, in the English countryside.
The Connection is a five day long exploration of how we can slow down, re-evaluate our connection with the digital world, disconnect for a while, re-engage with ourselves and connect with others on a deep and personal level.
The retreat has been curated, crafted and designed for parents, life coaches, teachers, thought leaders, radical thinkers, shapers of the future, those looking for inner and outer leadership, healers, psychotherapists and those wishing to forge another way into the future.
We are experiencing a global crisis a lack of intimacy and a loss of connection: There is a relentless invitation to pour ourselves, our dreams and our hopes for fulfillment into phones, screens, social media, the news and violent movies. We have an endless fascination with global chaos and from this comes a sense of utter helplessness. Most of us cannot bear to be still, without a screen, alone. Many never read, only watch, and attention spans are now the shortest they have ever been.
The majority of people are living in a 24/7 crisis of anxiety and overwhelm. We are experiencing an inability to connect to one another and a severe loss of connection to ourselves.
Ask yourself some questions:
How is your relationship to food and your body?
Do you feel addicted to the internet?
Do you hide behind your phone or computer?
Is your phone your best friend?
Do you default to screens more than you would like?
Can you think in a stream of consecutive thought?
How kind and or gentle are you to yourself?
Do you struggle with intimacy?
Do you revert to a child state when anxious or angry?
What is your relationship with your mind?
Do you constantly feel stressed?
Do you avoid the stillness?
Do you endlessly seek adventure and stimulation?
Do you experience anxiety or depression?
If your answer to any of all of these questions is Yes! Then join us on The Connection.
Join us for five days of exploration on how we can move forward with constructive ways to work with this emergency. We will discover the routes we all take out of connection to ourselves and others:
Carolyn Cowan, a Kundalini yoga teacher and psychotherapist specialising in addiction, sexuality and trauma, Catherine Page, psychotherapist and Kundalini yoga teacher specialising in anxiety, depression and chronic pain and Sophie Budden, chef and craft wizard will take you through these days and evenings exploring through talking, group-work, ritual, movement, creativity, meditation, lots of laughter, and limited internet, how to re-connect, how to run groups, how to bear the self, bear the stillness and connect to ourselves and others at the deepest levels.
Whole food: Delicious low sugar vegetarian food. You will help us to prepare the meals and learn new ways to take better care of yourself.
A Digital Detox: No phone, no screens, no computers, no internet, no tablets. This will be for 12 hours per day and longer if you personally wish to completely disconnect.
Learning: We will have lectures on hormones, the vagus nerve, managing addiction and intimacy. We will hold intimacy workshops for connection and reconnection, explore the inner child, and learn about the pain body. Release and connection through posture and breath using yoga, pranayama and meditation.
Creativity: there will be art, cooking, juicing, chats on food issues and craft work.
Learn how to manage your relationship to your story, explore how we abandon ourselves and, how can we learn to stay with ourselves in these difficult times.
We will undertake rituals and ceremony each day to help bring us into the Now.
